WISE, el nuevo telescopio infrarrojo de la NASA, ha descubierto 16 asteroides previamente desconocidos que pululan cerca de la Tierra. Estos asteroides son oscuros. De hecho son tan umbríos que la mayoría refleja únicamente una décima parte de la luz solar que les golpea. Para Amy Mainzer, investigador líder del proyecto de la NASA que usa el WISE: “esta población de asteroides podría decirnos mucho sobre la historia de la formación del sistema solar”. El Explorador Infrarrojo de Amplio Campo (traducción al castellano de Wide-Field Infrared Explorer) ha estado siete semanas mapeando el cielo en busca de objetos que radien en infrarrojo. Dentro de seis meses, WISE habrá concluído el primer barrido completo del cielo. “Solo estamos obteniendo los primeros datos generales sobre asteroides”, afirmó Mainzer. “Todavía es muy muy pronto así que no tenemos ni idea de lo grande que es esa población de asteroides oscuros”. Estos objetos recién descubiertos poseen órbitas sumamente inclinadas, lo que ha llevado al científico planetario Richard Binzel a pensar que se trata de cometas a los que el sol ha librado de toda su superficie de hielo, dejando apenas el núcleo rocoso orbitando el sistema solar interior. Se cree que los cometas se formaron en las regiones heladas y externas del sistema solar, aunque ocasionalmente alguno de ellos es deflectado hacia el sol a causa del tirón gravitatorio del planeta gigante Júpiter. A medida que orbitan más y más cerca del sol, su superficie se evapora formando la distintiva estela difusa de los cometas. Binzel cree que el WISE está encontrando cometas extintos. “Encontramos cosas nuevas constantemente. En estos momentos bebemos directamente de la fuente del conocimiento. La película es muy buena: cinematográficamente (guión, interpretación, fotografía…) y, aunque la historia (desenlace incluido) es de sobra conocida principalmente porque yo hablé de ella en mi blog hace ya ba..

La película es muy buena: cinematográficamente (guión, interpretación, fotografía…) y, aunque la historia (desenlace incluido) es de sobra conocida principalmente porque yo hablé de ella en mi blog hace ya bastante tiempo, la película te mantiene en vilo de principio a fín. Estoy algo desconectado del mundo de la farándula, y no se si habrá sido un éxito de crítica y/o público, pero se merece ambas cosas, aunque reconozco que no es una película para quién no le apetezca salir de la sala pensando. El fiera el Amenabar, no falla, cada película que estrena un descubrimiento, ojalá siga así muchos años. Como digo, no se que acogida habrá tenido, por ejemplo por la Iglesia (se puede ver fácilmente en las críticas de los medios afines, si encuentra la palabra “subvenciones” antes que “obra maestra” se puede decir sin miedo a equivocarse que no ha gustado política o ideológicamente), que suele tener la piel muy fina (no es la única) cuando la airean los trapos sucios. Si estas cosas han ocurrido, que ya digo que no lo se, son completamente injustificadas. Evidentemente empiezas con ganas de agarrar un gladio e ir a matar parabolistas, no hay duda, pero según va pasando la película te das cuenta de que no trata de lo malos que son los cristianos, si no de lo mala que es la intolerancia y la xenofobia. Yo, de mitad del metraje en adelante estaba pensando en los intolerantes y la intolerancia que me toca, que no es poca, y los cadáveres que tengo dentro del armario. El arte, es eso, algo que es universal, por eso el Guernica es el símbolo de los horrores de la guerra (con permiso de Goya) trascendiendo del bombardeo de la villa vizcaína o de la guerra española. comparte esta entrada:                   Entradas relaccionadas:

No lo iba a hacer, pero más de uno (dos) me ha presionado para hacerlo, así que recopilo aquí el balance provisional y personal del XI Congreso de Periodismo Digital y que anoche volqué en Twitter, recién llegado de Huesca, donde lo hemos pasado en grande, aprendiendo mucho y durmiendo poco, riendo como críos y hasta jugando (y ganando :) al futbolín en equipo con mi compadre @rsalaverria. Allí estuvimos los dos con 18 estudiantes de fcom (estudiantas, 16; estudiantes, 2) que han brillado con ..

No lo iba a hacer, pero más de uno (dos) me ha presionado para hacerlo, así que recopilo aquí el balance provisional y personal del XI Congreso de Periodismo Digital y que anoche volqué en Twitter, recién llegado de Huesca, donde lo hemos pasado en grande, aprendiendo mucho y durmiendo poco, riendo como críos y hasta jugando (y ganando :) al futbolín en equipo con mi compadre @rsalaverria. Allí estuvimos los dos con 18 estudiantes de fcom (estudiantas, 16; estudiantes, 2) que han brillado con luz propia, y que conste que no lo digo para hacerles la pelota y me empollen más, sino porque es verdad: hicieron preguntas certeras a los ponentes, defendieron apasionadamente su futura profesión y, sobre todo, ejercieron el análisis y la crítica con acierto y argumentos a la hora de juzgar a los mejores y los menos mejores sobre el escenario del magnífico Palacio de Congresos de Huesca. Gracias por su atención y gracias especiales a Toni, periodista de raza que como tal se me ha adelantado y publicado este balance en primicia mundial.Es como para estar orgullosos de que estudiantes de 21-22 años sepan ya aventar el buen periodismo de la paja mental que exhiben algunos apoltronados responsables de medios, siempre empeñados en echar la culpa de todos sus males a todos y a todo, menos a ellos. La autocrítica profesional sigue brillando por su ausencia. Así que de los buenos y muy buenos contenidos que hemos escuchado en el Congreso durante jueves y viernes no voy a escribir porque ya lo han ido haciendo requetebién Rosa para El País y @juanlarzabal para 233grados y mucho más para su periodismo al pil pil. Y, además, ya se han publicado las conclusiones aunque yo, personalmente, preferiría llamarlas resúmenes de lo dicho porque conclusiones, lo que se dice conclusiones... si lo fueran, algunas serían terribles. Bueno, la verdad es que también pueden considerarse como tales algunas de mis reflexiones después de lo visto, oído y vivido y que son éstas: Reflexión visual: los editores gráficos con calcetines cian provocan que más de uno se ponga magenta.
